School Treasure

One School's rubbish could be another school's treasure

There are approximately 34,000 schools in the UK and they produce a significant proportion of the waste dealt with by local authorities. Every single one of these schools can play a vital role in dealing with the UKs' waste problem.

The great news is that, as well as having environmental and social benefits, taking action on recycling your furniture, books and equipment can save, or even make, your school money.

Schools can currently spend between £250 and £1000 per year on waste disposal. Through the green 'Trasch' recycling initiative, schools can cut waste production by more than 50%, saving money on disposal costs.

There is a flip side to the waste problem. One School's rubbish could be another school's treasure. As budgets are being squeezed, schools are struggling to invest in new furniture, equipment, books - the list is endless.

By using the Trasch initiative, every member be it a university, college, school, nursery or other educational organisation can list their unwanted items so that others can make use of them! It costs nothing to join! Members can choose list items as Free to good home or for money. Trasch encourage member to list their items for as little money as possible in order to help each other.

Whatever your unwanted items are from a book to a box of paper get it listed on Trasch and see if you can find it a good home!

If you're an education provider you can join Trasch for FREE & create a profile...

...then promote all your unwanted educational items from books to toys to others that want it...

...you can sell items or just give them to a good home. Either way you'll feel good about recycling!
