Organisation Description The IRF is a UK based registered charitable organisation with the Charity Commission which was established in 2011. Its head office in London was founded to answer the call to a devastating and widespread famine in the Horn of Africa at that time. We’re dedicated to serving the most vulnerable people across the world by addressing the root causes of poverty and empowering communities. The core areas of our work includes community, economic development, emergency relief, education, training, food distribution, health, water supply, sanitation, conflict transformation, capacity building and creation of vocational training that can lead to sustainable livelihood.
We are dedicated to address the root causes of poverty around the world, we are passionate about working beyond the provision of immediate relief, towards supporting communities over the long-term.
IRF’s programs are implemented through IRF offices in different countries, which are supported with technical assistance and program management by IRF members (including IRF UK). We work in partnership with local organisations to deliver many of our programs.
IRF is non-religious and non-political, allowing us to deliver humanitarian and development assistance to anyone in need regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, age, religion, political view or sexual orientation.
IRF is also registered as a charitable organisation in Somalia and Kenya with the NGO Coordination Board.
